Los músicos callejeros como identidad cultural en las calles del Centro Histórico de León, Guanajuato: perspectiva musical y sonora

Abstract

This article explores the role of street music as a cultural and identity expression in the city of León, Guanajuato. From a sociological and artistic approach, it analyzes its etymology, the musical perception of urban space and the symbolic value it represents, beyond its classification within the informal sector. Based on theoretical references such as Bourdieu and Viñuela, as well as interviews with musicians such as José Luis Origel, Héctor el organillero and Daniel Borrell, the study reveals the richness of sound that inhabits the streets and the constant struggle for recognition, stability and the right to inhabit public space. These musicians represent a living form of memory, resistance and beauty in the daily life of the city.
